Modernizing a Legacy Brand – The Barr Group of Companies
When the Barr Group of Companies reached out to us, they weren’t just looking for a website refresh—they were ready to reimagine how their entire brand was represented online. As one of Kingston’s most recognized names in property development, the Barr Group needed a digital presence that matched the scale, quality, and professionalism of their work. We were thrilled to take on the challenge.
The project began with a deep dive into the unique identity of each of their companies—Barr Homes, Barr Developments, Barr Group Ltd, and Gordon Barr. Our goal was to modernize the look and feel of each site while ensuring everything aligned with updated brand guidelines. Rather than create four separate, disconnected websites, we focused on establishing a cohesive design system that would unify their brand without compromising the individuality of each division.
To bring a human element to the sites, we spent time on-site at their model homes, capturing authentic staff portraits and lifestyle photography that felt as real and approachable as the Barr team themselves. We also worked with them to brand and position one of their newest residential neighbourhoods, carefully crafting its visual identity and messaging to reflect its unique appeal.
Once the sites were launched, we didn’t stop there. We immediately took over SEO and Google Ads management, optimizing each campaign to target the right audiences with clear, results-driven strategies. The outcome? A significant boost in search visibility, better ad performance, and an even stronger foothold in Kingston’s competitive real estate development space.
